Maintaining a healthy weight is something that teens find difficult to do. In fact, it isn’t. All it takes is a change of lifestyle. Having a good eating habit is one of them.

Keeping your weight through exercise

The thing that you have to understand about exercise is that it has to be done at an hourly rate everyday. That means you have to engage in physical activity daily. Contrary to what others think, it does not mean hitting the gym or doing complex reps. It can be as simple as dancing or such.

Doing aerobics is one of the best ways of keeping yourself fit. Surely, you can take at about 60 minutes of your time doing this kind of activity. It is not that hard keeping yourself as fit as possible. Actually, it is as easy as it gets.

Lifestyle and food

Whenever you get hungry, always eat snacks. Remember to take only the healthy ones. The good thing about this that it keeps your energy levels high. So when you get hungry during your fitness activity, never forget to eat some healthy food.

Now, if you are engaging yourself on some physical activities to make yourself fit, one of the things that you have to put in mind is that you have to change your way of eating. In other words, your whole lifestyle. So keeping yourself busy can also tone your own body weight down.

  • Instead of taking the elevator, take the stairs.

  • Take a walk or ride the bike instead of driving the car.

One of the best ways to keep your weight as it is by having a good healthy habit. As much as possible, go moderately with the food you eat. You have to understand that diets never work because you tend to have a mindset that certain foods are bad for you while others aren’t. Thus you deprive yourself of what is healthy for you. Here are some helpful tips:

  • Drink low-fat milk, sugar-free drinks or water instead of sugar-loaded drinks.

  • Eat at least five servings of fruit or vegetables daily.

  • Go for all the different fruit groups as this will provide you several food varieties to choose from.

  • Eat a healthy breakfast. Never allow yourself to skip breakfast even for one day.

  • Always pay attention to the portion sizes of the food you eat.

  • Keep a variety of healthy food on hand. Certain healthy food are celery, peanut butter and even raisins.

  • Always eat when you feel hungry. Do not tempt yourself to eat more than you are supposed to be eating.

  • Eating snacks while watching TV or using the computer will only make you end up eating more. So avoid doing this.

As much as possible, be creative when making healthy snacks or in doing some physical activity. That is because this will make maintaining your weight enjoyable and can help you achieve your goal of having a desired body weight.
