Foods For Better Sleep

Some people may find it hard to fall asleep sometimes. And sometimes they just can’t have that relaxing sleep at night no matter how hard they try. There are many methods out there that may help you sleep better at night. One way is by eating the right foods that will help induce your body to sleep better at night. Here are some examples.

Oatmeal With Banana

One of the reasons why some people can’t just sleep better at night is through the disruption of the release of melatonin. Stress may be one of the reasons that this can happen. You can try to resolve this problem by eating oatmeal with a sliced banana prior to your sleep time. Bananas are rich in melatonin which can help fill up the need for it before you sleep.

Sesame Seeds

Sesame seeds are rich in tryptophan, an amino acid known ti help induce sleep. This is the reason why many people seem to feel sleepy after eating that Thanksgiving turkey. But make sure that you eat the sesame seeds without protein since it might offset the sleepy effects of tryptophan .

Glass Of Wine

That "nightcap" may actually have its use after all. Drinking a glass of wine may also help induce sleep. The alcohol in wine actually helps the blood vessels to relax which can lead to a slower blood pressure and heart rate which allows you to relax better. But this same effect can be reversed by drinking another glass of wine. Try to limit your intake to just a single glass of wine if you wish to sleep better at night.

Red Bell Peppers

Red bell peppers are know to be one of the richest sources of vitamin C. This vitamin has been known in various studies to help reduce the secretion of cortisol, the hormone that the body releases when it feels stressed.
