This may be due to catechins, antioxidants found in green tea, which are believed to boost energy and the burning of fats. Experts also think that catechins "may influence body composition in other ways."

Normal amounts of triglycerides are important for good health. However, high levels of triglyceride may increase the risk of developing heart disease.
