Skinny Bitch Fitness DVD

Skinny Bitch

The Skinny Bitch franchise is a series of books written by Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin aimed at promoting total health for women.

The franchise has now extended to workout DVDs. The authors, who also front the workout video, and offer a basic and straightforward way to help their readers deal with the physical aspect of the holy trinity of self-image.

The bitchin’ good parts

I must admit I expected something new from this Skinny Bitch Fitness: Body DVD considering the title and the franchise itself. But I walked away still looking for the ooomph that I was looking for.

The routines were fairly low impact and basic, consisting mostly calisthenics and light aerobics. They may be advisable for beginners or for those who quit exercise but decided to get back on the saddle.

The video is divided into 5 parts: abdominals, legs, arms, ass and meditation, each part lasting for 20 minutes. People will find that they can easily fit the routines into their busy schedules. The last part which is meditation serves as the cool-down after doing one or a mix of any of the other four routines. It’s also something you can do on its own, just to help you relax and focus.

All of the routines do not require exercise equipment so this should save you a few bucks.

The skinny bits

Onto the things that were rather lack luster. First off, though it’s rather refreshing to watch a fitness video where the instructors do not appear goody-goody, hearing the authors call each other and their workout partners "bitch" every time just gets old.

The background music was rather dull, but tolerable.

The video would have been better had the authors hired a professional instructor, someone who can show their audiences how to execute the moves, positions, forms, etc. properly.

Lastly, those who are looking for higher-impact exercises would be much better off with other exercise routines.
