Understanding The Candida Diet

There are a lot of diet programs people now can try if they wish to lose weight. But there are also other programs that aim to achieve other results such as to boost or improve certain functions of the body such as the digestive and immune systems. They may not necessarily lead you to lose weight. But rather it becomes just part of the process, so to speak. One such diet for instance is the Candida Diet.

Main Objective of the Diet

The Candida Diet is considered as a low-carbohydrate, low sugar diet that is not necessarily aimed to help weight loss. Instead, the aim of this diet is to primarily reduce the amount of excess yeast, more specifically Candida Albicans, from the gut. Too much yeast in the gut is said to be the cause of a number of health issues and conditions aside from promoting infections. The main objective of this diet is to balance the gut bacteria by getting rid of the yeast population.

Problem with Yeast

Candida Albicans is a common type of yeast known to cause infections in humans. While they normally live inside the body as well as on the skin, they can become a problem if their population numbers inside your body grow out of control. An overgrowth can lead to a type of infection more known as candidiasis. An overgrowth of this yeast in the body is also the reason for other conditions such as oral thrush and vaginal yeast infections in women. It can also lead to bowel irregularities, chronic fatigue, and even brain fog.
