Several Diet Advice That Turn Out To Be Untrue

Weight loss is closely connected to the diet you follow. Some people abide by certain diet advice that they say is effective for them. But among genuine diet advice based on facts, there are also others that turn out to be untrue. Here are just some of them.

Not True: Eating a big breakfast can help you eat less later in the day.

Many experts advise that you should not forget to eat breakfast because it helps kick start your metabolism for the rest of the day. But that does not mean that it is okay to eat a big breakfast

To get you by for the rest of the day. A recent German study composed of 280 obese and 100 normal-weight participants found that eating a big breakfast can result in taking in an extra 400 calories for the day on average. Most of the time, people who ate big breakfasts do not balance out the calories they consumed in the morning. Researchers also noted that the number of calories consumed ┬áduring breakfast has little on no effect to how much calories is consumed during the rest of the day. So by saying that you should eat a big breakfast so you won’t have the appetite to eat a lot later- not true.

Not True: Eating late at night will result in weight gain.

You will not necessarily gain weight if you eat late at night. Some people believe that food eaten later in the evening will automatically be turned by the body into fat, causing you to gain weight. But there are certain factors that determine better whether you gain weight or not than simply eating meals late at night. The main thing to remember is that if the energy intake is greater than the energy expenditure through one day, that is the time your body will gain weight. It is not dependent on whether you ate your meals normally or late at night.

Not True: You can eat anything as long as you exercise regularly.

When you exercise regularly, you can have a higher body metabolism that allows you to burn fat. But to say that you can eat anything when you do live an active lifestyle may be pushing it. With this mindset, it will not be true that you can lose weight this way. The only way you can lose weight is if the energy you use throughout the day is greater than the energy you take in. if your regular exercise burns energy but is not enough to burn through all the calories you’ve consumed for the day, then you will surely gain weight.
