Cortisol Weight Loss Pills

Many people went gaga when ephedra was introduced in the market. Products extracted from a native Chinese plant-which comes in pills, teas, and other medications-are commonly known for its use to cure asthma and common cold, but it also became a hit in the United States as weight loss goods.

However, the United States banned supplements containing ephedra due to evidence of adverse side-effects, including death. If you are on a lookout for a natural weight-loss supplement, the good news is that there are a lot of organically-sourced products that are known to lose inches and pounds off your body.

Why control your cortisol levels?

These weight-loss products work by reducing levels of cortisol in your body and balance the blood sugar. Cortisol is a hormone released by the adrenal glands excessively every time we are stressed. Although it is beneficial, too much or too little of it can actually be damaging.

High cortisol levels (when released too often) increases appetite, especially for sugar and carbohydrates, create more weight around your midsection, contribute to short-term memory loss, deplete bone, and even suppress the immune system. What is worse is that if your cortisol levels do not decrease for years, it would eventually tire your adrenal glands, causing chronic fatigue and unstable blood sugar that may lead to diabetes.

Weight loss products that reduce cortisol levels

Ideally, you could reduce your cortisol levels by managing your stress, eating well, exercising moderately, and getting plenty of sleep in a dark room. However, that does not happen all the time, and more often than not you end up defeated. However, there is no need to fret because there are new weight-loss supplements that help reduce cortisol levels, helping you relax and stabilize your blood sugar. These products contain extracts from bark of magnolia or phellodendron, both essential herbs in traditional Chinese medicine.

Magnolia is used in Chinese medicine for "wind-stroke, cold damage, headache, cold and heat, ‘fright qi,’ blood impediment, and dead muscle." The term "fright qi" can come closest to describing the condition of chronic stress, which causes increase of cortisol levels. Meanwhile, phellodendron (not to be confused with houseplant philodendron as the two are totally unrelated) is used as anti-inflammatory and helps reducing blood sugar.

Supplements made from magnolia include Cortislim and Relacore. Cortislim contain some amounts of vitamin C and calcium, as well as trace amounts of chromium, L-theanine, and other ingredients said to aid in balancing blood sugar. Meanwhile, Relacore also contains vitamin C and calcium, as well as some amount of B vitamins, magnesium, and phellodendron.

However, Chinese medicine texts warn against the use of both magnolia and phellodendron if you have digestion problems. There is also no conclusive scientific evidence (as of this writing) on the connection between lowering cortisol levels and weight loss.
