The GM Diet

The GM diet is short for the General Motors diet program that was developed initially for employees and dependents at General Motors Corp. The diet’s primary aim is to allow users of the program to lose from 10 to 17 pounds each week.

It is composed of a seven day meal plan that will not only help one lose weight but also help cleanse body systems due to the effects of the types of food included in the program. Here is a summary of the seven day diet plan of the GM diet.

Day One

Day one of the program is composed of eating nothing but fruits. One can eat all the fruits he or she wants except bananas. One suggestion is eating melons or cantaloupes on the first day. Limiting the first day of dieting to watermelons may help increase chances of losing three pounds.

Day Two

The second day of dieting involves eating solely vegetables. Dieters in the program is encouraged to eat as much raw or cooked vegetables of any type. There is no limit to the amount. Eating a large serving of baked potato with butter is allowed for carbohydrates along with the vegetables.

Day Three

The third day consists of eating a mixture of fruits and vegetables of any amount and quantity. Potatoes and bananas are not allowed during this day.

Day Four

The fourth day consists of eating bananas and milk Consumption is suggested at eight bananas and three glasses of milk.

Day Five

This is considered as the feast day for dieters in the program. Two 10 ounces of beef with six whole tomatoes is the order for the day. An increase of water intake is also recommended in order to get rid of the excess uric acid that will be produced in the body.

Day Six

The sixth day can be an extension of the previous feast day. During this time, the dieter can now eat unlimited amounts of beef and vegetables.

Day Seven

The seventh day menu consists of eating brown rice, fruit juices and an unlimited serving of vegetables one can eat.

Following this diet strictly may allow one to lose from 10 to 17 lbs. In order to lose more weight, one can also try to repeat the program for the second week.
