Marie Claire magazine reported that Jennifer Lopez and Gisele Bundchen have lost their pregnancy weight thanks to a revolutionary French diet plan called the Dukan Diet. Originated by nutritionist Dr. Pierre Dukan, this diet plan has helped over 1.5 million French households.
The Dukan Diet consists of four stages, each incorporating some of the best diet strategies. The first phase is the Attack Stage, a high-protein, no-carb approach. Call it a stricter version of Atkins and South Beach diets. Dr. Dukan provides a list of 72 protein-rich foods to choose from during the first week of dieting.
The second phase is where weight loss is felt, thus it is called the Weight Loss Stage, wherein you alternate a high-protein diet with a protein-and-vegetable diet on alternate days. An additional 28 low-carb vegetables are added to the list of recommended foods, including tomatoes, radish, spinach, cabbages, eggplants, and carrots.
Next is the Stabilization Stage, wherein carbs are added back into the diet, but with restrictions. You are also allowed two full unrestricted meals per week, but keep in mind that these two meals should be scheduled apart for at least one day.
The final phase is the Cruising Stage. You go back into eating whatever you want, provided that you devote one day of the week (usually on a Thursday) into having a high-protein, no-carb diet.
